Growing into yourself

Wow. After reading this book I felt like I understood myself better. Alaska's writing is so beautiful. The poems in this collection fit together so perfectly. As the story evolves you feel yourself learning and growing along with the speaker. Even the order they pieces are structured in is so precise! Among my favourites are "The Astronaut's daughter", "I love you, but leave me alone", "Words to myself and "Breaking myself so we're broken together". I feel like when I feel lost again, these words will give me comfort. Thank you for sharing your words with everyone Alaska, I can't wait to read more.

I do love it

Alaska Gold made me rediscover poetry as a whole. I had never been to fond of it since I could not quite relate to what people told me I was supposed to see on it. Alaska, on the other hand, tells you it is great to feel whatever you want, to build your own home in her poems. Her writing is that kind of things that make you breathe when you thought you couldn't, that ease your heart when chocolate has run out. And now, we are able to take those pieces wherever (best remedy for homesickness).
Read her. Give it a try. You will not forget her. She won't either.

Both of us enjoyed reading this poetry book

I bought both myself and my significant other a copy of this book to read while we are long distant for the time being. Both of us enjoyed reading this poetry book, the tales told within it, the lessons between the pages, and the themes reiterated. It has been a great book for us to talk about over Skype. This is definitely a book I would love to purchase again to give as a gift to my friends.
