Suspenseful, Sexy, and Superb!

Being an avid reader, I eagerly downloaded and read A Shot of Red by Tracy March. Right from the start I fell in love with Mia's character and soon following I fell in love with that hottie Gio too! These two have an integrity and passion that we all want coming out of a powerful family in DC and together are on a mission to save a potentially tainted flu vaccine from killing millions of Americans.

Loved the storyline--it kept me glued and I couldn't wait to find out "who done it" and at the same time I was sad it was over!

Can't wait to read more from this author--keep them coming Tracy March!

A Thrilling Read

I read this romantic thriller from beginning to end in one day. Gripping the edge of my seat, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to read what would happen next.

Ms. March introduces relatable characters and situations that are suspenseful as well as touching and thought provoking. I loved the hot chemistry between Mia Moncure whose family owns a biotech company and Gio Lorenzo, communications director for her mother, senior Senator from Virginia.

I recommend A Shot of Red for anyone who enjoys a well written book. I look forward to reading other books by this excellent author.

Great mystery romance

The main character Mia is a very determined young woman set to possibly take over a multi million dollar pharmaceutical company. Her brother is also in line with her. She returns from a humanitarian trip to Haiti (which she also uses as an escape hatch) she finds out her former fiance has died, there is possibly something wrong with the flu vaccination just released, a possible flu epidemic, foul play and decides to tackle it all. This is where the sexy Gio helps her.

I really liked this book. The author Tracy did a fabulous job with the characters. They were realistic and easy to relate to. There was enough background information to make it interesting but not to much to overwhelm you. I couldn't put the book down wanting to know the outcome. I was shocked to say the least. If you are looking for a good mystery with romance this is a great book to try out.

I love this book

I love this book! It's exactly what I have been looking for - a book that takes a realistic view to being healthy, lose weight, and maintaining your body. It takes time, patience, dedication, and most importantly understanding proper nutrition. This book has it all in a very approachable style.

The recipes are very good - and easy! - I should mention that there is a slight learning curve for some items (i.e. "Rocket" = Arugula, "Courgette" = Squash, etc), but it's only a few items and a quick google search solves any confusion. I can whip these dishes up in 20-30min for my family using familiar ingrediants but in more creative ways or combinations.

The workouts are fantastic and super easy to follow. I like the simplicity of them to focus on specific areas of the body as needed. (Not to mention her suggested weekly schedule)

I'm so happy to have this book and look forward to more from Alice. (Plus this is my first review on Amazon, which tells you how much I love it).

Disappointing & not worth the money

There are a LOT of typos in the kindle version, and the recipes were actually disappointing. I follow Alice on social media, so I had higher hopes for this book. The exercise plan looks interesting, but there are mistakes throughout the book that made it harder to follow. Probably best for readers outside of the US.

Essential Reading for Innovative Leaders

This is an essential read if you want to lead. It is insightful, thoughtful and full of real life examples that help the reader understand not only the theory but also visualize how the theory will apply to real life situations. While perfectly timed for todays really volatile (or should I politely say dynamic) environment, it pulls examples from the past that reinforce the point that the wisdom of the ages is also being encapsulated in the narrative -- so while the need to evolve is even more urgent today, it reassures that some the solutions available are also time tested. While the book is clearly aimed at business community, there is a lot here for any aspiring leader - be it in education, sports, military or society at large. While relatively short read -- think of finishing it on a domestic flight -- due to the depth of the content, it invites revisiting for deeper understanding of the point the author makes. A final point, the author clearly has the potential for a second career as a poet or literary author -- this is not your typical dry business read, it is also enjoyable just as a book.

A great read and a well-researched book. The Author makes a good case for constantly evolving in business to succeed. But, I found the ideas and advice applicable to my personal life. The writing style is simple and accessible – complicated concepts are delivered in simple language with excellent relevant stories. Wonderful one-liners that give you the essence of ideas. Just like the other reviewer above, I bought copies for others… my Daughter (in Law School) and my Son (finishing up Residency to become a Medical Doctor) and a friend involved with a non-for profit organization.

About the Author

Jennifer Jackson Preece is a Lecturer on Nationalism in Europe at the European Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science. She was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship for doctoral studies at Oxford University. Her doctoral dissertation, on which this publication is based, was awarded the Bapsybanoo Marchioness of Winchester Thesis Prize (for the best dissertation on human rights) by Oxford University in 1997.
